SmartCapture is the world’s smallest USB based Audio/Video capture and encoding device. It supports real-time, high quality Audio Video capture and compresses using the latest H.264/AVC video standard and AAC audio standard. SmartCapture Lite captures audio and video from TV, VCR, camcorder or any analog NTSC/PAL sources and encodes real-time to transfer to your computer through simple USB interface for storage and from there to your iphone, PSP, ipod or the web. User-friendly SmartPlayer software is used to capture and store encoded video from SmartCapture. SmartPlayer can also play back the media files encoded by SmartCapture and other media formats.

Q2 - What is H.264?

Top

H.264, MPEG-4 Part 10, or AVC (for Advanced Video Coding), is a digital video coding standard that is noted for very high data compression. It was jointly written by the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) together with the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) as the product of a collective partnership effort known as the Joint Video Team (JVT). H.264/AVC/MPEG-4 Part 10 incorporated a number of new algorithm that allow it to compress video much more effectively than older standards and to provide more flexibility for application to a wide variety of network environments.
